This Privacy Policy for Hammer Media, LLC (“ Hammer Media” "we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:
Our Commitment to Online Privacy
At Hammer Media, LLC, we care about our users' online privacy. We have this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) to ensure that you understand what we are doing with your Personal Information (as defined below) and to remind you that you have rights when it comes to controlling what is shared online.
Please note that this Policy is subject to our Terms of Use Agreement (the “ToU”). There are terms in the ToU that materially affect your right to bring a lawsuit against Hammer Media and other rights regarding this Policy. As such, you should read the ToU in addition to this Policy.
Acceptance of Policy
We know these privacy policies can be tedious to get through. However, by continuing to use our Online Services, you agree to let us use your information in the ways discussed in this Policy. For this reason, it would greatly benefit you to read this entire Policy.
Changes Made to This Policy
We may modify this Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this Policy lets you know when this Policy was last revised. It is important to check back here occasionally to make sure you have read the latest policy. By continuing to access or use our Online Services after the policy changes, you allow us to use your Personal Information in the way we describe in our updated policy.
Online Services This Policy Covers
Hammer Media offers the following products and services in connection with this Policy:
This Policy applies to our online services, including the App and our social media pages.(collectively the “Online Services”).
Services This Policy Doesn’t Cover
We love supporting our partners, and to show our appreciation, we may link to their websites and services. You may also see external links when you connect your third-party accounts to the App. We use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to provide this account connection feature in the App. When you click on one of these links, you are leaving Hammer Media, and this Policy no longer applies. The way our partners or other third parties do business is out of our hands, and we assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party website or service. Please note that when you are using any other third-party platform to interact with our Online Services such as the Apple or Android app store, Google, Instagram, or Facebook, you agree to their policies, and this Policy is in addition not in place of such agreements. We are not responsible for errors in purchasing of third-party products. Plaid’s end user privacy policy can be found here.
What is Personal Information?
“Personal Information” is any information that may allow for an individual to be personally identified. For example, your name, email address, social security number, phone number, residential address, and credit card details are all considered Personal Information. Other information, such as your interests, economic status, customer number, IP address, geolocation, education, and job title, may also be considered Personal Information if that information, when combined with other information, is used to reveal your identity.
Personal Information that Hammer Media Collects
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for the Online Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Online Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. We only collect Personal Information from you when you voluntarily agree to us collecting and using it. You voluntarily agree to us collecting and using your Personal Information by:
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s), for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
What Happens When I Link My Bank Accounts?
With your express permission, we use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to gather your data from financial institutions. By using the App and opting to link your accounts through Plaid, you grant us the right, power, and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from your relevant financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid. We may also use financial institutions to process your ACH funds transfers from your funding source bank account if you purchase a Premium Plan and choose this method of payment.
In addition to this, through accessing Plaid and linking your accounts, you also grant us access to the financial transaction information of the accounts that you linked. This includes purchases and the amounts of purchases; it DOES NOT include your account number, login, or any other security information which all remain private and we never see it. We use this information to provide the core budgeting services of our app. However, you can still opt out of this usage using in-app options or other options we lay out later in this agreement.
What About My Credit Card Information?
Any product purchases made through a third-party link, including purchases of a Premium Plan through a third-party app store, are processed directly through the third-party vendors. When making a purchase through such a third-party vendor, we cannot control and are not liable for how your credit card is processed, and you are subject to such third parties’ terms of service and privacy policies. All Premium Plan purchases made through the App are processed through your payment method connected to the App Store or through your funding source bank account using Plaid, at your election. This means we never personally see or store your credit card information or bank information when you use our Online Services unless there is a technical error resulting in us needing to manually enter your payment details with your express permission.
What About My Passwords?
To access our App, you must create an account and password. Your password is fully encrypted, and we never get access to this information. If you forget your password, simply use the “forgot my password” link to reset it. There may also be times when a password is required to access other certain accounts, such as when you make a purchase with a third-party affiliate or when you are interacting via our social media platforms. The third-party platform completely administers these passwords, and we do not have access to such passwords. We may also allow you to use 2-step verification in connection with your account to add an extra layer of protection to your financial information shared within the App.
